Who You Invite Matters

Who You Invite Matters

When it comes to living out your faith, few actions are as powerful as a personal invitation. Who you invite matters—because the people you bring closer to Jesus could be the next world changers in the Kingdom of God. In John 1:40-42, Andrew encountered Jesus and immediately went to invite his brother Simon (Peter). That one invitation led to the transformation of a man who would go on to lead the early church. Your invitation could be someone’s turning point.

Who You Invite Matters and the Ripple Effect of One Invitation

We often underestimate the eternal significance of simply saying, “Come and see.” Who you invite matters because God uses people to reach people. Romans 10:14 (NLT) challenges us: “How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” You may never preach a sermon, but your invitation can preach the gospel loud and clear.

Who You Invite Matters and Doing it with Purpose

Who you invite matters because everyone has a story. Every person you cross paths with is loved by God and created for purpose. When we invite them into our church family or to hear about Jesus, we open the door for the Holy Spirit to move. Think of the Nathanael in your life—the one who doubts, the one who hesitates. Just like Philip did in John 1:46, we simply say, “Come and see.”

Overcoming the Fear to Invite

It’s natural to feel nervous about extending an invitation. But who you invite matters more than how smooth your delivery is. God isn’t looking for perfect words—He’s looking for faithful people. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) reminds us that we have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

When You Invite, God Moves

When Andrew brought Simon to Jesus, Jesus gave Simon a new name—Peter. That moment didn’t just change Simon’s life; it changed history. Who you invite matters because you never know how God will use that person. Ephesians 3:20 (NLT) says God can do infinitely more than we ask or imagine—sometimes through one single invitation.
